Physics 30 - Inquiry Project

Gravitational Time Dilation in Black Holes

Hi I'm Mia welcome to the homepage of my physics project! Whether you're in the p2 or p4 physics class (hi guys hope you're enjoying the presentation), or you're my partner in the project (Flynn) and you're checking this out(hey flynn whats up do you like the little astronauts of us that I drew), or you're Mr.Buzz and you're marking this right now(pls give me 100% jk haha), or maybe you're just a random person on the internet who just happened to find my site, either way, I hope you'll enjoy looking at this website and maybe even learn something about black holes which is it's main purpose lol.

As I said, this is for my physics class and you might be thinking, this seems like more of a comp sci project then a physics project.. and i'll tell you that i'm not even in comp sci. For a while i've been wanting to learn code as my dad and my brother are both big legue pro programmers and comp sci nerds. And so I wanted to at least understand the basics, and well, I love the look of those old y2k really pixelated websites so I thought it'd be best to learn HTML. And in the future I plan on having my own personal website for my art or something so this was the perfect opportunity to learn!

okay but what does this have to do with physics or black holes or even whatever the forth dimension is..

When I was a kid black holes used to be the coolest science related topic like EVER (and they still are tbh) and I always used to watch youtube videos about them and learn about them in my own time and used them for a genius hour presentation in my grade 5 class. NOW in the big year of 2025, black holes have some relation to the actual stuff we're learning about in physics class, and so I was so ready to geek out about them now. And so with this project, I combined my old and long time interest of black holes, and my newfound interest in coding and web design, AND FUSED THE TWO TOGETHER FOR A SCHOOL PROJECT!

so aside from my love of black holes, the main inspiration and source of information for the facts and theories in this website is based on the movie Intersteller, by Christopher Nolan. All the diagrams and stuff you'll see in this site are from the book The Science of Interstellar which is written by Kip Thorne who is an American theoretical physicist as well as the winner of the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physics. This website will take a deep dive into his theories as well as the theories about the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and of course, the 4th dimension. As well as general facts about black holes, how they tie into the mysteries about dimensions and the effect black holes have on time dilation and its effect on spacetime as a whole. Thanks for clicking on this site and keep in mind its been coded throughout the course of about 2 weeks and i've also never coded anything ever AT ALL so this is my very first swing at coding. Hope you enjoy scrolling and reading through this small poorly coded website!

check out this pretty stuff too
